It's somewhat amusing to see Apple throw away market leadership now, just like it did in the 80s

                  • I wonder how the Ipad2's launch will effect the company? Personally, I still haven't seen anyone carrying around a tablet where as everyone at my work has a laptop and a smart phone.

                    • I see a lot of tablets around but in my opinion all they do is make our population dumber. If everyone is playing stupid games or twittering we don't notice what's actually happening in the world. Yeah sure these mini-computers are powerful but not really. They are not powerful enough for real work.

                        • I have seen loads of people with tablets.

Not as prevalent as smart phones or laptops, but I can't believe there aren't more in a major Californian city than there are in Reading.

Twitter makes me much better connected with what's going on in the world, both locally and internationally. And with direct access to stories, not just through the filter of news providers.

Like any tool, you can use it inanely, or intelligently or a bit of both. *shrug*

                            • You are silly if you think twitter is a direct feed. People have studied twitter and found that there is no way to predict what will trend and what won't, just like chaos theory. That means there is room for manipulation by hidden forces.

                              • Who the **** reads twitter? I only ever hear about it because the media. Nobody I know in real life actually uses it.
