Those are so unawesome they don't even register on the scale.

        Yeah, but you're obviously biased.

If you define biased as in someone so implicitly awesome I am the de facto expert on awesomeness, then sure.

By definition, a President can't be awesome.

I think we all know I'm not really the President. Wiglaf was at the top of the ticket.

The problem with hockey is, it's a constant distraction from itself. I can sort of see what you mean about not trying to see the tiny little puck against the screen and following the players' movements to infer where it is. Thing is, though, that requires you to keep your eye on the game constantly; if you lose track, your brain takes a couple of seconds to reacquire lock, and in a couple of seconds they can go like five miles across the ice. And hockey is nothing but a series of distractions in the form of whoever's in control of the puck getting slammed into the wall. You see a guy getting smashed against the plexiglass, you're going to look at him--at least, I do--and not at whoever just took the puck away. And the whole game is like that. Nah, too much of a hassle.

Yep, most americans are too lazy to watch hockey.

                  ACK!

That's actually the problem. There's a lot going on at a very fast clip. Americans are used to their slower sports like football and baseball. Few seconds of very directed action, then long pauses...

The tension is more palpable with constant action.

Otherwise it's not tension, it's boredom.

Only Asher can turn a Super Bowl thread into a hockey thread

But on that subject... Hockey and HD TV... a match made in heaven.

I used to have a problem watching hockey but NOW HD has renewed my interest because I can now actually see the puck most of the time.

As big of fan of football that I am, I have to admit that Hockey is by far the more vicious of the two. Yeah, In football guys take big hits, but Hockey has equal hits and Walls are involved.
