Are you saying that human civilisation prevented an ice-age? From "methane-belching ruminates" to industrialisation? Well-done civilisation if that's the case.

It's interesting how deniers are all from the right of politics ... when you trace the money.
Not all sceptics (deniers is an aggressively emotive term) are rightists. There are Marxist humanists who celebrate the progress of humanity and also challenge the eco-warriors. As for the money, I understand that there has been a lot of money in research grants for climate scientists who promote alarmism. Climate alarmism is one of the few areas that many governments are able to exert any sense of authority these days. I remember our own Oerdin saying how he wanted to get on this gravy-train, as it looked like a safe job for life.

Anyway, some people must be devastated that there are no fatalities or serious casualties so far.

            Good luck, Australia.

Every one of your "arguments" is addressed in my previous posts in this thread. But then, you aren't actually reading them, are you?

Yes, pre-industrial warming served us well. We've gotten much better at it since then.

The hottest 12 months on record ended in 2010. Russian heatwaves, North American and European blizzards, shockingly bad bushfires in Europe, North America and Australia, the worst drought on record in Australia, and record-breaking rainfall events and cyclones around the world.

The previous hottest 12 month sequence ended in 2005. The previous 12 month record ended in 2005. Hmm, nothing much seems to have happened then (irony).

Hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons are driven by sea surface temperature. We are seeing record levels of these, on an upward trend going for the last 30 years. Now I say "these record weather events are entirely random, even though meteorologists and physicists have been saying they'll happen for the last 30 years, because of rising temperatures".

              I reckon that's textbook denial.

Not content with eventually Godwinising every thread you take part in, you've started Kenobi-ising them!

I'd take a good long hard look in the mirror of one of your many ensuite bathrooms before you start comparing people to Kenobi.

Self criticism implies a glimmer of independent thought, which HC hasn't developed yet unfortunately.

Yes, he's got to be capable of developing thought before he even gets to the independent part.

No, they aren't. You merely stated the origin of the theory which I was not disputing. I'm disputing your claim that you can justify using recent weather patterns to prove global warming or link them to global warming. You talked at length about what the science is behind the theory of global warming and I'm not honestly interested in it. It's not relevant to what we're talking about. You said absolutely nothing to defend your blatant use of the reverse scientific method and just reiterated "well lots of bad things have happened it's obviously global warming".

You are framing this debate incorrectly. We're discussing your faulty science, not whether the theory is faulty. Invalid evidence doesn't support or condemn a theory.
