Such things can not be communicated directly, and so some people don't understand as well.

I heard one tele-evagelist say that half the Bible reads like a real estate manual. I was amazed. Even though there are parts of it that do read like that, I don't agree with the point he was trying to make.

Some people will read it as something like a real estate manual, but they will miss the most important parts.

On another point, it's obvious that you are just being a dickhead (sorry Nikolai and others) so don't expect me to continue to pander to you. But thanks for the posts thus far.

Call it an attempt at dickheadedness if you want but I was respectful in posing the question.

In response to your post - You talk about differences in reading of the bible, but what about religions that use a different bible, or no bible at all? Is there more than one god? If not, why so many interpretations of what he/she/it is?

I would think a supreme being would do better with clarity.

It probably was clear until lawyers got ahold of it.

I guess we could start with Islam. They believe that Ishmael was brought up the mountain to be sacrificed. The Christians and Jews believe that it was his brother Isaac that was to be sacrificed.

So why is it like that is your question. Well the answer to that, if we knew it would probably be the same answer to the question, "why do people read the Bible in different ways?"

We don't know. That's just how things are.

So then God is not omnipotent?

If God were omnipotent, he could communicate directly. It's not that hard to figure out.

I don't think you've got it figured out, actually.

I'm glad that if everyone can agree that they all agree with you.

Why do you prefer that people agree with mobius?

Because that proves how much agreeing with people counts.
