It's a fair question.

Hundreds (if not thousands) of different faiths, many with internal schisms would seem to indicate god is a very poor communicator.

Such things can not be communicated directly, and so some people don't understand as well.

I heard one tele-evagelist say that half the Bible reads like a real estate manual. I was amazed. Even though there are parts of it that do read like that, I don't agree with the point he was trying to make.

Some people will read it as something like a real estate manual, but they will miss the most important parts.

On another point, it's obvious that you are just being a dickhead (sorry Nikolai and others) so don't expect me to continue to pander to you. But thanks for the posts thus far.

I would think a supreme being would do better with clarity.

I guess we could start with Islam. They believe that Ishmael was brought up the mountain to be sacrificed. The Christians and Jews believe that it was his brother Isaac that was to be sacrificed.

So why is it like that is your question. Well the answer to that, if we knew it would probably be the same answer to the question, "why do people read the Bible in different ways?"
