Of course his birtherism is racially motivated. It's a tautology. Birtherism was never about where Obama was born; it's about people being uncomfortable with his "otherness": his race, his upbringing, his name, etc. For most birthers, it doesn't stem from outright "I hate ******s" racism, but from the soft racism that everyone is guilty of: "what is a black guy doing in this neighborhood," holding one's purse tighter when minorities are around, racial profiling, etc.
