No, reason has been very valuable in helping me determine that I do not have sufficient evidence to believe in any particular deity.

      • A larger percentage of the world's population at the same time believed in the existence of many gods than anything else. Does this mean that there are many gods?

At one point, I'd say that most of the world's population believed that the earth was flat, did this make the world flat?

I'm sorry, but belief is belief, not proof of anything.

As I said, my purpose was to give some evidence. That's all that Rah asked for. That is some evidence, not that it meets a burden of proof. Everyone knows that there is no proof. Rah didn't say that he doesn't believe because it's not proven. If he would have my argument would be different.

And it matters very little that you are not satisfied with the evidence that I provided. The fact is that most people find it to be evidence, and that in itself makes it reasonable.

And according to you reason has also helped others believe that you are wrong. So what?

              • Kid, in all seriousness, you were nicer and more loving towards others when you first converted. What happened? Beware of the tempting sin of self-pride, which can make one angry in debate and give one a tendency to lash out. Peace.

So we don't have identical experiences?

                  • Oh, what sceptics you all pretend to be. So sceptical that you believe it reasonable that life comes from a bunch of chemicals without any intelligent design.

                    What a bunch of hacks.

I'm not angry. What else is there to do when someone makes such a stupid post as that?

Well, if I remember correctly biological processes consist of chemical reactions. Seems plausible that complex chemical reactions could result from simpler reactions, although I wouldn't say there is sufficient evidence to be convinced that abiogenesis occurred.

What on earth (in reality) makes you think that that's possible? If I put all the materials together on a lot and come back later do I get a house? No, someone has to build that house.

And policemen in the south used to find black people close to the scene of a crime enough 'evidence' to find them guilty. A practice that was supported by most of the (white) population. I'm sorry, but belief alone doesn't count as evidence.

So basically "X requires an intelligent agent, therefore Y does also"? Sounds very reasonable.

go learn some chemistry, and then argue. Please.
