    Spoken like a true tool.

    Who needs privacy?
Hell, who really needs freedom at all?

Modern examples of abuse of power rarely seem to be enabled by freedom violations.

Yes, it is certainly a toolish stance to be in opposition to the US government covertly inserting backdoors into security software that the world will use.

      Covertly?

Do you understand what an NDA is?

Do you understand that none of the things they did were secret, except to the extent that no one was clever enough to notice they were doing it?

This was secrecy in plain sight. Anyone can see the code repository, and anyone can see the revision history. The fact that no one noticed this backdoor* doesn't make what they did secret.

*and actually, no one has noticed this backdoor yet. There is still no proof that any of this ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Only the allegation. But as I said before, facts are fickle things in Asher Threads.

            You can't be serious.

It most certainly was NOT in plain sight. It was intentionally obfuscated. You really think it was some obvious thing?

If it was in plain sight, the commit would say "Inserting backdoor to anally violate people here". It was clearly meant to be secret.

*and actually, no one has noticed this backdoor yet. There is still no proof that any of this ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
We have no proof. WE HAVE NOTHING.

Yes; a freely entered contractual obligation that doesn't bind anyone else who saw the source code.

Why do you think the NDAs were required if this was not meant to be secret?

                Are you both braindead?

Just because it was in OSS doesn't mean it wasn't secret. Obviously you two have no experience with code obfuscation.

If anything you should be mad at the devs who ALLEGEDLY sold out to the feds.

You both are collectively starting to run out of options from the standard issue GOP booklet of retarded excuses.

Butbutbut! It was only the FBI!
Butbutbut! Who would they REALLY spy on anyway? No big deal!
Butbutbut! You should be mad at the guys who sold out to the feds, not the feds!
Butbutbut! It obviously wasn't meant to be secret if it was in an OSS! The NDAs and intentional code obfuscation means nothing!

Well sure, of course the FBI didn't want people to notice their backdoor. That's the whole point of a backdoor. But it's not covert at all. There was nothing to stop somebody from auditing the security stack.

If I put a tape recorder in plain sight on a table in a reception room, is that covert?

Actually, I think you ran out of options about page 1 and our repetition is mainly due to the fact that you've floundered over the same broken argument twice already.

                          So you really are retarded.

Is a Navy SEALS operation not covert when it is done out in the open world where someone could potentially see them?

"Covert" is not defined as "0% chance of being caught".

It obviously wasn't meant to be secret if it was in an OSS!

                            I'm curious who said that.
