No thread about the new WIKILEAKS United States diplomatic cables leak?
BTW, check your facts. Look up "falsify" in the dictionary.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Check your facts they did not "only add commentary", they edited to video to omit the arabs carrying weapons.
There's nothing in the link you posted to indicate that. Source?
As for "number of occasions", more than editing in more than one video should count as such I think. For those less semantically focussed, I think any unbiased observer of wikileaks activities such as the handling of the previously mentioned videos including the delightfully provocative title "collateral murder", the release of names and places that jeopardizes lives, the threats to Bank America, and their more recent attcks on the VISA website might conclude that they would not be above omitting cables that were prejudicial to their views and contrarily (and this was my point) might be bright enough to include a few fictional pieces designed to "stir the pot". There's nothing stupid about that.
Do your wheels squeak with all that backpedaling?
“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
"Capitalism ho!"
Check your facts. Wikileaks had nothing to do with the attacks on VISA (or Mastercard, et al).
And no, adding commentary is not falsifying. You on the other hand are very loose with the truth and unwilling to admit it.

Loose with the truth? Amazingly, SpencerH is falsifying his reports...

New Champions of FREE SPEECH while the US reverts to authoritarian censorship!
Canadian WikiLeaks mirrors could spark legal battles
Champions of free speech are lauding the proliferation of Canadian WikiLeaks mirror sites emerging after a crackdown on the original wikileaks.org web address, but the growing practice of creating copies of the controversial site — and the sensitive information it contains — could spell trouble for Canadians committed to the continued exposure of state secrets.
Canadian citizens and Internet service providers (ISPs) have been quick to take up the call issued by WikiLeaks administrators to create mirror sites of the organization’s original website after an American domain-name provider shut down the wikileaks.org address late last week.
A scan of WikiLeaks’ list of mirror sites worldwide reveals the existence of at least six clones bearing the familiar “.ca” ending, meaning the sites are registered through the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.
There are now more than a thousand WikiLeaks mirror sites around the world, and while those created in this country are no different, questions are being raised about the liability of Canadians and Canadian web companies creating and hosting these sites — thereby facilitating the spread of confidential diplomatic information — should governments pursue legal action.
The RCMP said it could “not confirm nor deny” the existence of any investigation into Canadian WikiLeaks mirror sites Thursday, while a spokeswoman for Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said his office would not comment on “operational matters.”
“The perpetrators of these leaks may threaten our national security,” said Melissa Lantsman.
David Elder, a lawyer and an internet law expert at Stikeman Elliott law firm, said the U.S. government, through the mutual assistance legal treaty, has the power to ask the Canadian government to investigate, acquire information and gather necessary warrants needed to prosecute. But as for what constitutes a crime under the Canadian Criminal Code when it comes to the nature of information being released by WikiLeaks, the law is unclear.
“There’s material that’s being published that is obviously embarrassing and in many cases is viewed as a threat to national security. But the question is, what charge would apply?” Mr. Elder said. “The law isn’t absolutely clear here. It’s in a constant state of flux and it’s complicated by the international dimension.”
An emerging principle in most jurisdictions, he said, is that passive providers of information won’t attract liability. But Mr. Elder notes that the extent to which website creators and ISPs could be held liable for the spread of confidential information could depend on how they react when instructed to remove content.
“It does get more complicated when you are given explicit notice that you have to take something down and don’t,” he said.
For now, Canadians who have set up their own WikiLeaks mirror sites don’t seem to be worried.
“Some information that becomes important needs to be mirrored,” said David Gilbert, who was one of the first Canadians to set up a WikiLeaks mirror site in this country (http://wikileak.eicat.ca) when the call went out Sunday.
As a co-operator of EI Catalyst, a Toronto-based home and business ISP, he is able to use his company’s bandwidth to ensure the site stays up. And he has no intention of taking it down anytime soon.
“Free expression is under serious attack in so many corners of the world and it’s amazing to see it under attack here in North America,” Mr. Gilbert said.
“I’ve always supported free speech on the Internet,” he said. “Having your own ISP is a way of being able to support these activities.”
Andrew Tejero, a 29-year-old network administrator from Prince George, B.C., said he began having trouble finding the original WikiLeaks cable releases when the host website was shut down, so decided to create a mirror on his personal website (http://wikileaks.tejero.ca) to make it easier to read the cables.
He said the spread of mirror sites will force governments and institutions to “begrudgingly accept the fact that once information is in the public domain, censorship of that information is ineffective.”
But he said he expects the U.S. government to eventually censor the mirrors, something he would be unable to stop because his site is hosted in the United States.
“However, if that happened I would find a Canadian host and simply host the mirror on a server that rests upon Canadian soil. If the Canadian government asked me not to host the site, I’d tell them to go pound salt,” Mr. Tejero said.
“If the Canadian government shut down that mirror, I’d go low tech and print the cables out and tape them to telephone poles.”

I don't expect it to last. Harper will buckle in a second to a US request.

We disagree on many things, we just agree on the important things.
