Right, I'm sure you can provide examples of homogeneous societies that existed for centuries "completely without strife".

      • It's because Hera is from the Balkans so he thinks ethnic conflict is the norm for humanity and impossible to not have... the bizarre thing is though that Serbians, Croatians, Bosnians, and Slovenians are all ethnically/racially the same and speak the same god damn language but still want to kill each other.

How about East Asian and sub-continental Asian then? Just because we can't say swutting 'oriental' anymore.

                    A. "You People" is actually potentially insulting, believe it or not.
                    B. It's not like it was my decision. I'd be fine with calling them Oriental still. Or pretty much anything more polite than "slant" or "Coke-pisser."

that's part of it, but there's more to it than that (differences that is).

                        No, I don't believe it.

Over-simplification. Most Bosnians aren't even Muslim, for a start. The Muslim side has appropriated the term 'Bosniak' in a kind-of linguistic land-grab over the Serbian and Croatian Bosnians.

I can point to homgenus societies completley without ethnic strife. Can you point to ethnically diverse societes with no ethnic strife?

Also need I remind you that diversity has been shown to reduce social trust, conectedness and civic participation? Need I point out that in the US people who are the most tolerant of other peoples tend to live in homogenus neighborhoods?

The rule of some ethnicites over others and keeping diverse people together by censorship and foce, for buisness and goverment interests candied over by a obligatory universalist state sponsored ideology seems as good a definiton of empire as any other.

But the bloodshed was over ethnicity. Seriban and Croatian Bosnians fought with Serbian and Croatian forces.

How about you show some evidence that homogeneous societies have less strife overall than ethnically diverse societies? The form strife takes isn't all that important to me.
