I wonder how much of that is because what I said earlier that Asians tend to make crappy 'people'. I know it's a stereotype but there's enough truth in it and it may actually affect applicants. Colleges look at other things besides SAT scores and high school grades; they want to see a complete person who was involved in activities and who can sell themselves in an essay. It's obviously not always true but there are a lot of Asian kids that are lacking in these areas.

Well so anyone wants to take issue with what I said? Anyone HONESTLY wants to take issue? I said so many disclaimers "I know it's a stereotype" "It's obviously not always true".

Does anyone want to deny that stereotypes do not have some limited validity to them (or else they wouldn't exist!) or that the perception of their validity (even by college admissions people) can not be powerful?

The man is just "sowing wild oats about the place" perhaps with a certain opportunistic abandon. The woman is not "sowing oats". It is connected with expectations of how each gender should behave. (Whether or not this is sexist would be another debate). I have known lots of racists. I don't think any perceptions of "exercising sexual power" enter into this equation.

Perhaps. There do seem to be different varieties of racist.
1. The race haters
2. those who look down on other rages as inferior (despising without actual hate)
3. the patronising (subtly different from #2) looks down without despising
4. the sheep who just go along with what "everyone" in their reference group thinks
5. those who have had very little contact with other races, perhaps more "strager danger" than race

This isn't ridiculous Alby. Look at where Whites and Asians are on that chart, 135 and 140. Are you saying there are no people with IQs north of 135? I just have a feeling you aren't very good with thinking about percentiles and large populations. Also don't forget that a lot of high achieving African Americans are less than 50% Black genetically speaking. I wouldn't be surprised if the Black curve thus have a fat right tail.

What are you talking about? Zoom into the pic if you must the Black curve has as much space left over on the right side as the black one. The Asian one has slightly more space because it goes a bit off the chart and even there I had to look at it for quite a while before being sure it was a few pixles different.
