If it makes you feel any better Al, I've known four people who were in the marines or the army and none of them had stable long-term relations during their service. One of them, a girl, was divorced twice by the age of 21. She was married to her first husband for a year and they only lived together for 2 months.
They basically all went for one night stands or dated partners for a short period.
I'm not sure where you are in your life right now. I think last time I was here you were in the process of joining the marines, right? Just join the hedonism and don't act awkward. The military is not a place for hopeless romantics.Comment

No... I was injured in training. Why should that disqualify me from trying again?
For enlisted, it's called 'recycling' but there's not enough OCS classes per year to allow for recycling so injured people get sent home to come back later.
