Read HC's post again. Fundamentalism isn't the only way to read the Scriptures. Its a fairly new creation. Aside from the Orthodox Jews, Jews view the books of the Torah as divinely inspired, but not inerrant. After all, they are written by flawed humans in flawed human created languages.

But Christians can possibly get away with that because Jesus came down to change things up. My point is that Jews are technically supposed to follow the Torah's crazy laws and they do not.

MrFun, your beef is more concretely with the Jews than the Christians. Jews are actively disobeying the word of God by not sentencing people to death for not observing the Sabbath and wearing mixed fabrics and stuff like that.
