Many of the laws Mr Fun quotes are laws that God asked Israel as a nation to enforce. It is not the responsibilities of individuals to enforce these laws but nations and leaders in nations. So their enforcement or lack of enforcement is not the responsibility of Christians. This includes adultery laws, blasphemy laws, work on Sabbath laws etc. So we are not to kill our neighbour for adultery or working on the Sabbath, but our nations have the right if they choose to make and enforce such laws.

Indeed. Shame on America for allowing its citizens to stray from living according to customs and values of ancient era, rural goat herders and shepherds.

$50 seems about right. Maybe a little more if she's still a virgin.

"Leviticus 25:44 states that I can own slaves provided I buy them from neighboring countries. A friend claims this applies only to Mexicans, not Canadians. Why can't I own Canadians?"
Because Mexicans are subhumans, and Canadians are Goddess's chosen people.

"I have a neighbor who works on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 states that he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?"
        Yes. Start the killing now.

"In Lev 21:18 - 23, God clearly states that a person cannot approach the altar if he is a dwarf or a hunchback, is blind or lame, has eczema, crushed testicles, or scabs, or who has a defect in his eye. I have to admit that I wear glasses. Does my vision have to be 20-20 or is there some wiggle room?"
No wriggle room for you scum. Perfect vision or you're going to hell. Bad eyesight is a direct consequence of wanking too much. Burn wanker, burn.

"I know from Lev 11:6 - 8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but can I play football if I wear gloves?"
Yankeestan football is the work of the devil. You're going to hell.
"My uncle has a farm and violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blends). He also curses and blasphemes a lot. Do we have to go to the trouble of getting our whole congregation to stone them? (Lev 24:10 - 16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair the way we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev 20:14)"
No. Laziness in stoning heretics is the path to hell. Get some rocks you lazy ****.
Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch
I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure

The West Wing plagiarized the scene from an email that was making the rounds (addressed to Dr. Laura Schlessinger) well before the show ever aired.

And Jews are going to Hell because they're not Christians. Duh.

That anyone would think this is morally acceptable is frightening.

Not even ultra-orthodox Jews believe that this should be the law. Radical muslims do, however.

Then Orthodox Jews are not being faithful to God if this is originally in the Torah or Old Testament.

And radical Christians it seems, given the person who just said it.

Reading some of you people's opinions on religion is like reading Provost Harrison's opinions on how to drive a car.
