Now, that was nasty Al. Here Elok has nurtured his selfesteem for years on that and then you destroy it allWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Seems a bit like an overkill but hardly racist, which I think means the belief of some race being superior or inferior to the other. I don't think Islam is a race or it's dress codes.
In any case, covering your face is illegal on many countries. I fully support the law for security reasons. I'll be damned if a person can wear a burkha, cover their face, while others are not allowed to wear masks per se. This is to say that if Religion X or Y exists, it cannot break the law. It's funny how people say well, they have this freedom, when the countries where burkhas are the social norm are... what, more or less free? Or "there are different kinds of freedoms?"
What the ****, seriously people. Another thing, your religious freedom can't interfere with my rights as a citizen. In da butt.

The only ones who weren't completely exhausted were the British and that's because 3/4ths of their soldiers weren't even from Europe. The Soviets certainly were done with war if they could avoid it in 1945 so no need to claim the Russians were ready to go another round.Last edited by Dinner; September 27, 2010, 05:44.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

WTF, Az?
Yeah, and this will be your demise. This and stupid non-existant parenting. But whatever - let us not forget that what actually happens is rather predetermined, unless any sort of concentrated movement arises from all of this chit-chat.
As for melting pot vs multiculturalism... it seems to me that when people think the melt results in too much spice, they get all huffy and complain. Whereas if the melt results in a nice plain sandwich on white bread, it's all good, yo! No, wait. I mean all is well, what what.
There are core issues on which "multi" won't work. Our Bill of Rights, for example. You either buy into that or you don't (setting aside for a moment the % of "native" Americans who apparently don't really buy into it either). If there was a substantial (large, influential), multi-generational group of people who reject our core principles, then it becomes a problem. Show me that, and I'll get worried. There is one group that qualifies, but they're really more of a coalition and they're really not as scary as I used to think they were.

p.s. Banning face covering for security reasons in certain locations/professions is one thing. A general ban is another.Last edited by Arrian; September 27, 2010, 10:09.grog want tank...Grog Want Tank... GROG WANT TANK!
The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
