America is far more tolerant and open toward Muslims than most of Europe and MUCH more tolerant and open than Muslim countries are to minorities in their nations, yet people are giving wall to wall coverage of this lone nutjob (who even nutjobs like Sarah Palin oppose) and somehow people get the idea that America is a profoundly intolerant, oppressive nation toward Muslims. It just isn't the case.

Yet at the same time when someone burns a Bible in Saudi Arabia, no one gives a damn.

Step carefully, Ozzy. You're listing awfully close to the belief, most recently advocated by GOP "intellectual" and potential 2012 Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, that we should model our religious tolerance on that of Saudi Arabia.


I do get your larger point, and I do agree with it. By and large, Muslims are far better off in the US than in large portions of Europe (not to mention the Middle East), and if the media would just ignore these complete *********, they'd never get any oxygen, and we'd all be better off both here and abroad.
