  • I'm Curious, can anyone name a great British Painter?

    Itally: Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Raphael etc

    Spain: Velazquez, Goya, Picasso, Dali etc

    Netherlands: Vermeer, Rembrandt, Holbein, Bosch, Van Gogh, Rubens, Van Dyck etc

    France: Monet, Matisse, Meissonier, Cezanne, Degas etc

    British Islands: ?????
    I need a foot massage

            Landseer
            Rosetti
            Banksy (!)
            Hockney
            Lowry
            Leighton
            Collier
            Blake
            Waterhouse

            Other famous ones:

            Constable
            Turner
            Gainsborough
            Hirst (Debatable!)
            Bacon
            Morris

            + loads more!

                I would love to buy a print of his when I can afford one. He's amazing.

                I haven't heard of the others, but I'll look into them.

                  By the way, speaking of cultures that don't paint much... I dare anyone to find me an Arab painter that's not from the last century or so. Go ahead and try.
