    Yeah I know its a hilarious statment, that's why I made it.

    The typo was Philipino, I assume Asher got it right and Filipino is the correct spelling.

Has a single Slovenian in the history of the world accomplished anything that had an effect on the world at all? Possibly the most obscure Balkan ethnic group and that's saying a lot (it's the freaking Balkans!).
        Not many of them this is true, but a few never the less:

        I've accepted this. One would need to change our culture and overall strategy so much that whatever ethnicity would arise would have as little to do with being Slovenain as the identity of the ancient Saxon tribes in Germany has to being an American today.

        Most likley however is total extinction of our language and heritage. I think for a long time I compensated this with identification with European and Western civlization in general, but I've come to accept their inevitable and not too distant demise as well. I guess I haven't fully accepted it and am still trying to figure ways in which a part of it could be saved thus my obssession with eugenics and cilodynamics.

        • Interestingly enough, it appears Slovenians who immigrated to the US concentrated in one American city... Cleveland. I suppose if you're from an irrelevant mediocre craphole, you'd want to move to America's irrelevant mediocre craphole

              What I find funnier is this list of famous Slovene Canadians:

              * Aloysius Matthew Ambrozic, Roman Catholic Cardinal Archbishop of Toronto
              * Joe Mihevc, politician
              * Tina Srebotnjak, television journalist
              * Elvis Stojko, figure skater
              * Matt Stajan, ice hockey player
              * Greg Kuznik, ice hockey player
              * John Jakopin, ice hockey player
              * Wade Belak, ice hockey player
              * Randy Velischek, ice hockey player
              * Ed Kastelic ice hockey player
              * Dean Malkoc ice hockey player

              Was that all or did I miss a ice hockey player somewhere?

                Not Canadian, but the best Slovenian ever.

                • Another one for you...

                  What's the difference between a Slovenian and a Slovakian?

                  Not a joke, it's a genuine question. What is the difference?

                    There's two entire countries (Croatia and Hungary) separating them. They're not close people at all even if the name's both start with Slov

                        I only started the eugenics thing a few months ago. Before that I think I posted a lot about Transhumanism. Also don't forget game and (evil) relationship advice.

                        Anyway like I said in another thread this Eugenics thing will pass, they always do. Its already peaked in terms of disrupting my private life (like always I wasted ~two weeks shut in obsessivley reading and researching it, ingoring social and academic obligations). I've returned to normal, now I just hope I'll slowly be able to overcome the urge of dragging this and related subjects up in every second conversation I have.
                        I sort of cognitively lumped the transhumanism and the eugenics together as insane, monstrous notions about "improving" the human race, to be honest. I suspect next month you'll be all for that orbiting homeless-person incinerator from the Onion. I think that bit was in "Our Dumb Century."

                          Yeah it's all the same. The only difference is one is through technological means and the other is through eugenics. Transhumanism is much more likely though. Heraclitus is betting on the wrong horse.

                            My understanding about the Slovaks is that they were a part of an okay country but the piss poor half mired in underdevelopment and poverty and supported financially by the Czechs then for some retarded reason they wanted to secede.
