Ben, whether you define the Crusades as offensive or defensive shouldn't excuse the moral crimes committed by the Crusaders. That would be like saying since the US was attacked on 9/11, we'd be justified in killing every Muslim we found overseas. That's a simplistic example, of course, but the point is that the Crusaders were, for the most part, violent pieces of **** who liked killing, especially when they had a ready made excuse for it, which you are so eloquently providing.

I'm not seeing any conquests from Native Americans. Just other Europeans.
Americans were descendants of the english, german, dutch, etc. settlers who stole the lands of the 13 colonies from the natives. Then they purchased lands from europeans who had taken them by force, in other words they bought stolen goods. Americans committed atrocious genocidal acts and forcibly removed natives from their ancestral lands because there were still natives living on most of the lands that Europeans pretended to own. Texas and the rest of the American southwest was taken from Mexico by force, who of course had taken it from Spain who had taken it by force. Hawaii was annexed by force. If you don't accept that the US was built by conquest you are either being dishonest or ignorant.

Tell me why we are permitted to retain lands we gained through invasion here in North America.
    Good question.

    What territory did America conquer?

Because it's okay for godly Christians to kill, steal, and covet.

Well true, but Americans don't really have a say in this. This is before their time.

I guess since there are some Christians in Iraq, Bush was defending the territory from muslim invaders.
So Iraq is an American territory now? When do they get to elect senators?

This has got to be an act right? No one would be trying to make this argument, right? Only Pope Urban II, right?

I wasn't aware that Augustus and Julius Caesar were Christian, Ben.
I wasn't aware that Augustus and Julius Caesar fought the Muslims.

Constantine was. Theodosius was. Leo was. Justinian was. It was their empire by the 6th and 7th century.

All offensive invasions, and somehow it's wrong for Christians to demand their return. Why is this?
