      Jeans were not permitted at my company until this year. We got a memo right before the holidays saying "Merry Christmas: Jeans are now permitted as part of the dress code" with the usual caveats about non-bleached, torn, etc.

        Jeans are acceptable where I work as long as you're sure you won't be having client contact on that day. Gee, common sense.

              That would be borderline for us. Some might consider it faded and accept it.

                Anything borderline means it's unacceptable by a lot of people and therefore not kosher.

                    At least at my company, they need to be a consistent colour. No patterns, logoed (embroideries or whatever), fade patterns, bleaching, etc.

                      Here it's manager discretion so sometimes it's not consistent. Since the definition in the employee documents are a bit ambigious.

                      If no one ever complains then nothing is done.
