At first I stood by and did nothing, but now I must declare war on 'Glee'
Hueij tried throwing Strange Fruit in my face since I'm from a Southern state. He didn't know at the time that I like Blues.
That's not what I remember. AFAIK we talked about it and I told you I had this weird version and you asked if I could send it to you. It had nothing to do with you being from whatever state.
Which reminds me btw, I've been meaning to ask you for some time now if you still have it. I lost mine in a hd crash If you still have it, can you send it my way? I haven't been able to find that particular version again
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
Once again...
They offered 3 modern Music History courses, I took two of them: "U2: Even better than the Real Thing" and "Rock Music of the 1980s". They also had one on Led Zeppelin, but it was full. They fulfilled some of my humanities credits.
Best courses I've ever taken. Seriously. Only ones I had perfect attendance in, my other courses I skipped >50% of the time.
The instructor was a retired oilpatch millionaire lawyer who had a genuine passion for the music. He retired to play and teach music he loves.
I should have gone to that Uni
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
I'm mailing you a prescription for a new pair of testicles.
Glee kicks ass .
Just because you aren't comfortable in your masculinity doesn't mean you have to project onto me.
Oh, one other thing, from back in page 2... Asher, how did being pretentious become something undesirable in a rock band? All the great classic bands thought they were overly important and were in love with themselves.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Hey, does anyone else have the Glee iPhone app? We can network and share each others' (admittedly rough around the edges!!) performances of all the hot Glee hits. And the user interface -- featuring a floating globe that allows you to listen to karaoke in any country -- is rivaled only by that of iPhone itself. The app even includes rudimentary Auto-Tune, so you don't have to worry if you miss a note here or there. I look forward to using the Glee app with all of you one day

I have a copy of the song that I can send. I don't know if it's what you're looking for or not.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
I actually kind of enjoyed "American Idiot," but not in the way one usually enjoys music. "Holiday" is hysterically funny to me, for example. I hear "Sieg Heil to the President Gas-Man" and crack up every time. Also "another protester just crossed the line/to find the money's on the other side." Even if you leave out the marvelously clumsy preachiness, the thought of protesters getting smacked down fills me with warm and fuzzy feelings.
...wait. Come to think of it, that's the only thing I enjoyed about the album. Most of the songs after the initial three sound exactly the same, and the first two aren't all that great.

There's a difference between pretentious and confident. The great classic bands that were pretentious (think Queen) could back their **** up. They were in a class of their own.
Green Day songs could be learned by anyone with 6 months of guitar or drum lessons. Their song structures and melodies are all exceptionally simple. They've got a way to make catchy pop riffs, but then they abuse the hell out of it in their songs.
I can't listen to any of their newer albums front to back because every song sounds the same. Predictable. Which goes into what Elok just said:

QFT.
I guess a better word to use instead of 'pretentious' is 'posers'. I don't think they are sincere, I don't think they are talented musicians. The only talent they have is one of business: seeing a market for the anti-Bush style of music and marrying it with catchy pop hooks and having many people think they are musical geniuses. They are not.

Full disclosure: I was a member of a Glee club.
I figured you'd have this app, being an addict to the American Idol Xbox games.
