There is no meaningful difference between a machine that transforms high-skill labor (robot designers) into cars by building the cars here and a machine that transforms high-skill labor (airplane manufacturers) into cars by putting the airplanes onto boats and then having the boats come back with cars in them.

One is called a "factory" and the other is called "free trade".

    • wait, what? I can't figure out what the **** you are saying.

epmd meant to say "Robots don't [steal] peoples' jobs."

subjective. "the largest" could mean larger than all competitors, or largest possible. I guess I was wrong to call it objective.
just... no. There's exactly one meaning of the word "largest".

No one actually lives overseas. "Free trade" is just a euphemism for a special machine that finds boats that sail over the horizon, takes the stuff off of the boats, and puts on different stuff.

That probably is the best explanation for why progressives answered one way, and libertarians another way. But the lack of one correct answer that all educated, intelligent people must agree to is what allows even honest, educated, intelligent people to go one way or another, so I think the murkiness of the questions is intensifying the disparity.

No, it was obviously right because it agrees with my personal opinion about progressives. How could it be wrong you ****ing communist?

Fail. 100% is the largest possible market share, so companies with 100% market share have the largest market share.

                      • I think gribbler's point is that progressives aren't only economically retarded; they also can't understand simple questions. Good point.

Have you noticed everyone is "deliberately misreading" things? What he's saying makes perfect sense -- it can be read both ways.

I'm seeing you making this mistake a lot. You must keep in mind English is ambiguous and many people can read certain sentences many different ways. The survey in the OP is a great example for how not to word survey questions for that reason.

People who read it differently than you are not "deliberately misreading" things. The world does not revolve around your viewpoint.

                            like, robots building cars.

Cheaper production means that the people in the first world can specialize in other higher value activities like designing computers or whatnot.

Maybe so, but the original job is downgraded substantially in the process.

Your point would be valid if you weren't using it to defend yourself and gribbler.

A point's validity is independent of the circumstances of its use.
