  • Did you go to church for Easter?

I have to admit I have never been a believer or even felt much desire to become involved with religion but my girlfriend wanted to go to church today since it was Easter Sunday so I went with her to The Rock in Point Loma. The parking lot was packed with cars from people like us who never go to church but decided to make a cameo for Easter (if I owned a shop in that center I'd be ****ed off that the church is hogging all the parking spots in the parking lot) and I had a good time even though The Rock seems waaaaayyyyy to theologically conservative for my tastes. I think I would prefer a liberal protestant group (theologically liberal in the 19th century style not politically liberal) but still I have to admit it was a good way to meet new people.

So who decided to give up their pagan ways for 2 hours today?

Last time I tried that to please somebody was Midnight mass during Xmas about 12 years ago. I was bored to hell and my (ex)girlfriend fell asleep. NEVER AGAIN.

You should have gone to the Ester Mass Theben. It's more entertaining.

The priest will tell the story about how Jebus came down from the mountain and passed out chocolate bunnies to all his believers. Or something like that.

Plus it is in the morning so you people don't fall asleep. The church I went to, which I don't really like as it was to conservative (the pastor was a vocal supporter of prop 8), did try to make it entertaining by having a band play Christian music and had actors acting out parables. Personally, I thought it was dumb and the music sucked but at least they're trying.

I don't remember the last I went to church, when it wasn't because of wedding, etc. When I was a kid I only went to church dec 24, but that was many years ago
This space is empty... or is it?

First time in 10 years I didn't go to the Vigil. The parishes here run very early at 8pm.

Easter Sunday service was alright. I much prefer the Vigil, and I'm disappointed I missed it yesterday.

I went to church yesterday, if that counts.

Today I didn't go to church, but I did read the account of Christ's death and resurrection in John.

No, but did go to mosque and prayed for God to fill with courage the hearts of the mujahedeen and with bullets the hearts of the crusaders and murtadeen inshaAllah. It was just an average friday really.

I would have gone but my daughter was ill so I stayed home with her.
And friday I was supposed to go but I was ill and stayed home as well. (while I had elder-service, but totally forgot because of my illness).

So eastern for me without going to church.
