Green Day [only if it's from the 1990s]
U2
Bruce Sprinsteen
Coldplay
Lily Allen (just one song - "**** You")
The rest you can delete.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
If you like Metric and the Sounds (is it just the hot female vocalists you like?), Phoenix is probably the best bet. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (their latest album) just won the Best Alternative Album Grammy.
MuteMath is also kinda similar (check out the songs Electrify and Spotlight).
I didn't even know what the vocalists look like, they just happened to be the only two bands I knew in your list so I figured I might like the others.
Will try the two you suggested and report back.
What kind of music do you listen to predominantly?
I'd put myself firmly in the "Alternative" camp.
My playlist currently includes:
The Temper Trap
Crash Kings
The XX
Metric
Passion Pit
Vampire Weekend
Mumford & Sons
MuteMath
The Sounds
Phoenix
Cage the Elephant
Et tu?
Bonus question: Are you on Last.fm? I am. I am "asherian". Friend me. I need friends.
I haven't heard any of those bands. Are you deliberately trying to listen to obscure bands?
I personally listen to a wide variety of styles. But most playtime goes to metal (various sub genres, especially with female vocals) and rock (70's and 80's).
The musical discovery that I made today was that Dream Theater also have songs that I can stand to listen to. All of their stuff that I have heard before was going to my nerves for some reason.

Some of these may be considered obscure, but not most?
Hell, one of them just won a Grammy.
These are all pretty popular bands in AltRock circles.

I turns out that I have listened to Metric too ("Help I'm alive" gets some playtime on the rock radios that I listen to)
I was mostly curious if these are all the bands that you listen to or only the more interesting/unpopular.
Here is a nice band that mixes Bulgarian folklore with Metal sound. Some people might find this interesting although the lyrics are in Bulgarian.

They're the ones I'm listening to right now, but I also like some mainstream rock (Killers, Coldplay, U2, etc).
If there's one thing I can't stand it's the prissies (mostly the Counterglow crowd ) that seem to sneer at anything mainstream.
Metric, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and MuteMath are all fairly big right now, I think. Metric has been big in Canada for years (going back to 'Dead Disco', I think)
