On the topic of homosexuals as it relates to national defense, in all honesty for the integrity of any fighting force of any nation, all homosexuals should be banned from military service.
The problem with having gays serving is that they quickly create moral problems, as they cause discomfort among the troops. Furthermore, homosexuals generally engage in abhorrent behavior, which has the effect of damaging the moral of a regiment (this has been seen especially in the 3 Para Mortar Platoon of The Parachute Regiment).
Homosexuals, much like malingerers, and just about any other member of the MIR Commando Regiment, only serve to damage unit cohesion and generally become an administrative burden.
Also the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps holds a similar opinion:
“Reporting from Washington — The commandant of the Marine Corps said Thursday that gays should not be allowed to serve openly in the military, becoming the most senior commander to break from President Obama's goal of lifting the ban.”

I honestly do believe, that most sensible people will agree, possibly even most homosexuals as well…that the military, or any sort of institution which is directly responsible for national defense is not an appropriate work environment/career option for them.

On the contrary, it's quite clear to me that homosexuals are precisely the type of man I'd want in the field. An effective fighting unit is one that is bound by trust, trysts, and tactics. A homosexual unit will be far closer than a heterosexual unit. We're wired to be competitive with other heterosexual men, to compete with them for women...not fight alongside them.
Homosexual units are the way to go. IMO, the heteros should be kicked out of the military. Look how successful the Navy is, FFS.

Look at the Canadian military in WW1. Rampant sodomy and more homosexuals than heterosexuals, all fighting under the Red Ensign. It was one of the most feared militaries in all the world.

Actually, according to the standing orders set down by the Canadian Militia's Provost Marshall, and enforced by Camp Police/Garrison Police/Military Police/Regimental Police etc. Buggery was an offense punishable by everything from confinement in the guardhouse, to corporal punishment, all the way to being kicked out of the service.

You know as well as I do those were overlooked when we actually needed soldiers.
Those rules exist because on peacekeeping missions, the soldiers wouldn't go outside and keep the peace. They'd stay inside and **** eachother. It was great for bonding, terrible for PR. Thus the rule.
But in wartime, it's Canada's secret weapon.
