I rarely go over about 130kph (~80 mph), even on a totally open highway. Actually, I'm far more likely to go faster with some traffic around me than if I'm alone on the road.

The fastest I've ever gone on a public road (I wasn't driving) is 220 kph (a little over 135 mph).

When possible, I go 140-150 on highways - outside highways, usually on/a little below limits.

Depends on the road. Consistantly hit about 140 kmph on the interstate in Wyoming. Can't really do that up here.

Last time I got pulled over for speeding was doing 60 kmph in a 'school zone' which I got waved off when I was able to prove that the ticket was issued at 730am.

I think I've gotten about 5 tickets total, all of them for going about 65 through speed traps where the speed drops from 60-50.

I usually go 70-75 mph. Every once in a while, I'd go closer to 80 mph depending on the surrounding traffic.

Usually about 2 mph, but if I get off the freeways, it gets up to almost 15 mph.

60 in a school zone! I can't tell if you hate children or love them very very much.

My standard speed is about 4-5 mph over the posted limit. Cuz I'm a rebel, yeah.

The fastest I've ever driven was on a stretch of highway between Tracy, CA and San Francisco. I was on a business trip and in a rather sporty rental car. The *posted* speed limit got up to 85 mph, and while going with traffic I topped 100 mph a few times.

Didn't know that there was a stretch of freeway in California that has an 85 mph speed limit.

I'm also surprised that the Euros among us drive so fast, what with the extreme gasoline prices on that side of the pond.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. Well, some 5-10 percent extra isn't that much. What really would make panic was if you yanks had to pay what we do
