I don't see looting or anything. Timing? Maybe.
While the haitian law enforcement truly isn't concidered one of the best, it at least has the excuse that it's hit just as hard as others.

Some idiots have claimed that Obama hasn't reacted, but as far as I know, some 5.000 american soliders have been sent to "make peace". Add to that the flight contrrol crew and a couple of carriers with copters, US has done a good job.

PS. Some new Oreleaners may have a valid coment on this, but that is for another thread,
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Canada's trying to send more military and police to help maintain order and search for survivors (in addition to planes and ships full of aid), but the airport is the bottleneck. The planes are fully loaded on the ground in Canada and are waiting for word on when they would be able to land. The airport is insane...

There's literally 800 troops sitting around at Trenton AFB waiting for the go-ahead to go to Haiti. And a bunch of C-130 and C-17s loaded with supplies waiting too. Seems so wasteful.

They need to get the seaport up and running. 1 airport ain't enough.

I just laugh at Robertson now. He's not even worth getting angry at. I read "pact with the devil 200 years ago" and chuckled, "what a ****." Until such time as his herd of adherents turn violent, I see no reason to do otherwise.

One would have to wonder what sort of damage the herd would do without mad ravings to give their lives meaning.

Of course I laugh at Robertson too. My favorite is years ago when he said people who dabble in things such as Astrology will be cursed. I thought, "Oh, that explains Reagan's Alzheimers since Nancy must have been cursed." What a dip****.

That's long term - if I get it right, 72 hours are te limimit for saving people with damages.

The seaport is out. All the container cranes have fallen over into the berths, which means not only are the cranes not operable, but the berths are fouled

Apparenlty they are repairing the airfield, but right now there is not enough usable runway for C-4s and the larger Russian airlifters to land, just C-17s and C-130s for the forseable future.

No, but it doesn't make sense. What is needed is ground crew that can dig people out and medics. Food and water will be nessecarybut it can wait.

The U.S. has sent a repair crew for the port.

IIRC, people can only go for a real short time without water. Food, I think, people can generally go without for what, five to seven days?

Yeah, not sure why BlackCat thinks this isn't a priority.

Maybe Blackcat found a way to live without water.
