  • New Year's Eve And No Idea Where To Go

I never plan very much ahead when it comes to New Year's Eve. As far
as I'm concerned it's an excuse to party, not something very special. Not
that I mind partying, of course.

Every year so far it came out OK. Last minute plans which turned out excellent.

But this year I don't know what to do. I am not in a relationship and most of my
friends have already made arrangements. I can of course join something someone
else (friends, family) organized, but so far nothing I heard sounded right.

Should I buy a single airplane ticket to Berlin or something? Even more importantly,
should I buy a return ticket or just stay there?

What would you do in my position?

Go to Belgrade, Vet. They say it's now the party capital of Europe.

        Hello,

I can still remember last year when on 31st December I was on same position where you are.Even I was puzzled what to do and what not to do.My all friends had already mad their arrangement and only I was left.My family members went to join the party which seems to be boring to me.So I prefered to stay at home and watched two movies one after the other. So I think you should also do this this rather to waist money just for roaming in plain and all.

You know what, that's exactly what my buddies are doing!

Cheap too, I think that it's going to cost them 150 euros per person.
Travel there and back, tickets, all included except drinks.
I was invited but I don't feel like Belgrade. Dunno... perhaps I should.

I'll probably do that for Christmas, but New Year's... it would be weird.

Anyway, what are the rest of you people doing? Don't consider this as
              a thread about me!

                Isn't Christmas with parents/family mandatory?

Here it's not mandatory, simply common. It's not unusual for someone
to organize a party instead. Also, being in Church on midnight is the end
of the "official" part, afterwards many people go off somewhere to drink.
