I have wondered along similar lines but have thought that perhaps it was simply a case of better job options at this time. But the more asher slams at Ontario, the more I wonder why he doesn't just leave if he finds it so unbearable
I think his SO is from Ontario. I can only presume he's ugly like the rest of us.

Until April it was because my SO was finishing his degree at Waterloo. Now he's done but I'm still under lease at my current place until April (this year). Unfortunately, for the kind of work I do, the vast majority of my jobs are in Toronto or the area. Calgary's not a hub for software development. That's not to say they don't do it, but good jobs doing software dev work in Calgary are exceptionally rare. I'm keeping my ear to the ground for jobs back home, and when a good one comes up I'll apply. My SO is applying to jobs in both Calgary and Toronto, and if he gets one in Calgary then I'll quit my job here and we'll move out there.
If I can't find a job, I'll do solo consulting.

No, he's from Calgary also. Just went to Waterloo for schooling... my brother did also.
In April my brother is getting his masters and moving to either Calgary or Vancouver, depending which firm he accepts with. He's rescuing his fiance, an optometry graduate from small-town Ontario.
Humanitarianism.

If you support the extraction of oil sands, you are basically just that - a climate change denier!
That makes no sense on so many levels. For one, most of the people who support extraction from the oil sands live on frigid tundra and would welcome climate change with open arms. We've done our time living in ****ty weather, you *******s closer to the equator get to take your turn now.
Additionally, extraction of the oil sands is not that environmentally damaging. Hell, the nitrogen oxides released by the Concordes you ****heads flew for decades being released directly in the upper atmosphere was probably more damaging.

Cardiff is just about as far from the equator as Calgary.
Hamilton is awful in every way possible. The city is so ****ing polluted and ****ty that my satellite radio ALWAYS cuts out for the 5 minute drive past the city limits on the QEW enroute to Buffalo or Niagara. Even if there's not a cloud in the sky, perfect weather...

Their weather is still milder, they can suck it up. I'm not entirely convinced Cardiff actually exists, either.
As for fiance/fiancee, I don't speak French. I didn't know there was a difference.
