If you don't want me to respond to what he says, you're going to have to ban him or ban me. It's not in my being to ignore stupidity.

Ben is consistent, though. He doesn't think abortions should get public funding, and he also thinks you must fund one if you fund the other. He clearly thinks that childbirth and maternity care should not be publicly funded in any way.
1, I don't think we should be funding either abortions or prolife organisations. I've always advocated that prolife organisations should rely upon private funds.

2, I believe that maternity care is an appropriate use of health care dollars. I don't see how abortion which kills babies has anything to do with appropriate maternity care.

That being said, I think people should pay for their own healthcare except in the case of emergency. That would include maternity care. I don't think that parents would be deterred from having children. I believe that the individual cost for such insurance would be less than what we pay in taxes.

I'd give PP another $10 if they ensure the dead babies were genetically disposed towards being blind, deaf, or Welsh.

Just to be clear, you are admitting your opinion is inconsistent and does not follow logically. I'm sure we all share in the shock of this moment.

You're even inconsistent within that same post.

How is my position logically inconsistant?

                      I'm making several arguments here.

                      1. Medical care, including maternity care shouldn't be publicly funded, and should be covered by private insurance outside of emergencies.

                      2. If we have a public system, I believe that maternity care is an appropriate use of health care funds. Abortion is not an appropriate use of health care funds in a public system.

                      3. Abortion has nothing to do with proper maternity care.

Abortion has nothing to do with a nativity scene.

Sure it does! If there had been public funding of abortion Mary might have been tempted to abort baby Jesus.

That would have rendered her cockamamie "immaculate conception" story unneccessary, too, as the abortion would have covered up the fact some dude other than her hubby had gotten her preggers.
