What about HOMM III and Vicky?

I wasn't one of those folks *****ing about Vista. I'm disappointed, but not surprised to see Windows 7 breaking games as usual.

At least DOSbox works for the older stuff.

Why the **** would you ask me about HOMM III? Who the **** cares?

Do some research. Figure it out.

Who the **** would actually be shocked when games written for Windows 3.1 do not work correctly in an OS released in late 2009? Honestly.

What I'm shocked is that a free app not developed by MS does perfectly fine at running games even older.

If it can be done via DOSBox, I can't see why MS can't develop a similar application that permits you to simulate a win 3.1 environment.

Do they even sell that anymore?

There are many ****ing things you don't understand. And apparently one of them is this, because MS did develop this and it's called Windows XP Mode.

You do not even come close to comprehending what DOSbox is or how it works.

Since I don't own a copy of Civ2 I can't test it, but I wonder if the geniuses *****ing about it not working ever tried enabling the Compatibility Mode.

Windows 7 is really, really nice. Its not a huge departure from Vista, but a couple of things that irritated me about Vista are now gone: its a more polished OS. There are a couple of irritating bugs, but nothing major. And Windows still doesn't search inside PDF's by default (just like Vista). But that's probably just a license issue. But I do remember it was somewhat of a pain to set up in Vista.

If Civ 2 is so important for you, buy Windows 7 PRO. The Windows XP mode should do the trick. I have to admit I can't play that game anymore, the UI just makes me want to pull my hair out.

Can we please continue to mock Ben for saying:

                      Vista >>> than Longhorn

There's so many things to mock. For starters, Longhorn was the codename for Vista.

So, Longhorn was the beta version. Naturally, Vista is/was better. Wasn't that bad of an observation.

Longhorn was not the beta. Longhorn was Vista.

It's the project's name before Marketing got to it.

He was implying Longhorn was Windows 7.

Please don't jump my ass. I'm trying to understand. I might be misunderstanding like Ben.
Longhorn. Was it made available for sale? I'm under the impression that it was not.
Vista was marketed. What I'm saying, I don't know about Ben, is that between Longhorn and Vista, certain tweaks were made that bettered it.
Is that essentially correct? Again, I'm asking for my education. Go easy on me.
