Depends on what you consider the ending year of the Boomer generation. Some (like Strauss and Howe) label it in 1960, while others go as far as 1966. Obama was born in 1961.Originally posted by KrazyHorse View PostSorry, dude. Obama is a Boomer. Deal with it.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Enough said...(CNN) -- Strong support from young and minority voters propelled Barack Obama on the road to the White House, exit polls showed Tuesday.
Voters in the 18 to 24 age group broke 68 percent for Obama to 30 percent for John McCain, according to the exit polling. Those in the 25 to 29 age bracket went 69 percent to 29 percent in Obama's favor.
The only age group where McCain prevailed was 65 and over, and that by just a 10-percentage-point margin, 54 percent to 44 percent, the exit polls showed.
Race played less of a role in the election than age, exit polls showed.Keep on Civin'

Yeah, that didn't do it. I was trying to find it broken down by age and haven't been successful yet. But I'll stand by it, and you should refrain from being too insulting unless you can provide proof that I'm wrong. Yes, I know, wishful thinking. You'll be an ass regardless. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

No such thing...Originally posted by Drake Tungsten View PostYou just proved my point and did nothing to support the point of your dumbass brother.
Roughly 129.4 million votes were cast for both Obama and McCain with Obama having about a 9.5 million margin of victory. Granted, this is pure votes and not electoral votes. His roughly 55% victory in the popular vote translated to a landslide of around 68% in the electoral vote.
Based on Gallop exit polls (and other exit polls showed similar results)
18% of the total voters were 18 - 29
66% of them voted for Obama, while 32% voted for McCain, and 2% voted others.
This created about a 7.9 million vote advantage for Obama, or about 83% of his total margin of victory.
The rest of that advantage, and more, was made up in the 30 - 44 category, where Obama got 52% of the vote.
So as the CNN story said, it was the youth that propelled Obama into the White House. It wasn't the boomers that elected him. The 45 plus crowd voted more for McCain. The non boomers are responsible for Obama.Keep on Civin'

Yeah... but the whole point was that you said the boomers put Obama into office, and that simply isn't true.
Real data shows how wrong that statement was.
You can lamely attempt to save face by saying that demographics breakdowns support your supporting argument about all groups but 65+ voted for Obama, but it doesn't change the fact that you were WRONG. The boomers didn't put Obama in the White House.Keep on Civin'
