I'd be one of those folks on the far end.

It's like Churchill's quote, Democracy is the worst form of government, excepting all the others.

No it's not, you insufferable ****! Less Germans thought it was a good thing and more Germans thought it was a bad thing...

You can't even get a simple graph right - no wonder you're totally out of your depth in everything else...

Oh, and talk about clutching at straws, Che... What's your alternative, huh?

Communism is total **** - it is a tool of tyranny! I've just got back from seeing some of its effects in Slovakia and Hungary - you ought to be totally ashamed of yourself for supporting such an evil system.

Fewer Germans adopted the principle, "the Capitalist system is broken and we need a new system".

I don't consider the middle position, 'Communist'. Sounds like social democracy to me.

It could mean anything from "laws to prevent people from making misleading advertisements are necessary" to "government provided health care" or anything in between. The people who chose it could approve of any given kind of capitalist system. We simply don't know if it indicates support for "social democracy", whatever that means. I'll grant the possibility that more people inclined towards "social democracy" (assuming the term has meaning) may have taken this option, but by the same token I think you could have chosen it without this indicating any particular change in your values or beliefs.

I the first graph (clearly the pro/anti Commie graph), more Germans thought that the demise of the Soviet Union (A COMMUNIST STATE - INDEED THE COMMUNIST STATE!) was a BAD thing...

Everyone knows the Union was not THE communist state, not even A communist state. Even officially the economic system here was called "well-developed socialism", not communism. The declared goal of the CPSU was establishing a communist society. In case you missed the last 20 years and didn't know, they actually failed.

When you DO have a democracy you also have a lot of pissed off people.

And again, it's been pretty much stipulated and agreed upon that most people who participate in economic polls don't know WTF they are talking about, anyway, so again, who cares what idiots think?

Just because 95% of people think a sane economic system would involve abolishing money (they don't, but let's just say), that doesn't mean we should do it.

                                Yeah, it actually does.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
