Again: The NFL did nothing here. As soon as the PR storm started, the Checketts syndicate seeking to buy the Rams jettisoned Limbaugh. Not because he's conservative (so are they). Not because he's racist. But because he hurts their chances of success. A business decision - imagine that!

At this point, there's not even a firm offer to sell by the current owners (the team is being "shopped" by Goldman Sachs), and there is no formal bid to buy by Checketts.

If Rush is part of the best offer for the Rams, I don't see why the league should bar him.
Then why are pro sports so reliant on subsidies?

What about the Leafs under Ballard?

That douchebag had no trouble selling tickets.

Checketts has been backed by George Soros in the past and Soros might be involved in the bid to buy the Rams...

I can think of other descriptors but that one works.

Yeah, I may have jumped the gun on the "conservative" thing.
But my point is: This was a business decision by the Checketts group.

If anything, Checketts' associations with both Limbaugh and Soros would underline this.

And barring Vick would have been incredibly radical in the history of the NFL. I don't think the league has ever banned any player for life for off the field antics.

I guess most conservative fans will find the NFL the same way.
                  Doubt it.

Both Vick and Rush are the victims of a ridiculous society.

Agreed. If only society was as hate mongering as Rush, he'd be accepted.

Did you miss the part where they told Checketts they would reject his bid unless he dropped Rush?

Not because he's conservative (so are they).
As noted, Soros was on the bid, and he's the antithesis of conservative.

A business decision - imagine that!
Did you also miss Sharpton and Jackson's statements that Limbaugh was a racist? Hardly a business decision, at least not one that follows market principles.

Uh, I'm not an Eagles fan. I don't blame Goodell for reinstating him. I blame the Eagles for bringing him back on the field.

Imran is suddenly the voice of conservatives?

Conservatives are that beholden to Rush that they'd stop watching the only thing that gives their life meaning on Sunday besides the lame inspiration of protestant faith?
