Mine is simple.
If Obama believes in it, it's wrong.
If the pope believes in it, it's right.

Obama and the pope both believe the pope is Catholic. Ben's head blows off.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Obama doesn't believe that obedience to the pope is a necessary component of catholicism.
Therefore when Obama says that the 'pope is catholic', he's really saying that the pope belongs to his conception of catholicism.
Thus, Obama is still wrong, and the pope is still right.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Obama and the Pope both believe that Tamerlane was Not A Nice Person. There you go.
Re: OP, I tend towards virtue ethics, the third of the options presented (malicious intent). It's the most akin to Orthodox views of sin.

Yeah, but Obama believes that Tamerlane was Not A Nice Person for being insufficiently socialist, whereas the Pope believes that Tamerlane was Not A Nice Person because he (meaning Tamerlane) wasn't baptized. Ben's troll remains sound!
HTML is disabled in signatures

Obama believes he is God. The pope believe's he's God's representative on earth. Once again the Pope is right and Obama is wrong.Last edited by Ben Kenobi; October 8, 2009, 19:36.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

I don't have any quotes where Obama says he believes the sky is blue.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Obama believes he is president of the United States. The pope believes Obama is the president of the United States.
Of course in Benland, Obama is wrong b/c he does not have a valid birth certificate, and the pope knows this and only paya Obama lip service. Huzzah!I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
