      For me, it's 1964-1974. It's crazy how much musical innovation and how many great bands came out of that period and pretty depressing how little of either have come out of all the years since...

                  Electronic music didn't exist in that decade. It wasn't until Eiffel's "Blue" that the genre existed.

                          Seriously, if you're looking at rock and it's various offshoots, it's hard to argue with those dates since that's basically when rock came into its own. Another good period, though, would be roughly 1986-1996. Sure, alot of dreck, but quite alot of highs as well.
