Man go through every post I made in this thread

You'd probably like all the old music and probably some of the rap if you were open-minded to it.

Both those guys are no-names, though. I never heard of them. Looking them up on google or wikipedia comes up with next to nil. Gene Redding apparently had an album chart at #45 in 1974 or something but that was the extent of his commercial success.

I only know of the other song because it was sampled so often... tracks by Beanie Sigel and Young Jeezy used the Greg Perry song.

Hip Hop: Re-introducing the forgotten classics to a new generation since forever.

Both of those were sampled by the way. Boogie Oogie Oogie by Fabulous and Brooke Valentine a few years ago.

And of course Sukiyaki was featured and sung by Slick Rick on La Di Da Di

Another original and rap sample combo.

"You and I" by Black Ivory (1972)

Was sampled in Q-Tip's "Gettin Up"

Thank god for hip hop producers and DJ's digging in the crates and revitalizing forgotten music and digitizing it.

Check it. Look at the type of stuff you can find on youtube...

Going to keep up with the original and sampled rap song combos.

Since Doc posted Diana Ross, going to bring up one of her songs.

The original... Friend to Friend (sample begins at 2:05)

    And the rap version:
