he's someone that i've been dimly aware of for a couple of years. recently i heard someday soon and it got stuck in my head, so i decided to listen to the whole EP (towards the sun) and revisit his debut album. i'm glad i did, really enjoyed it.

Detractors might dismiss Time Without Consequence as the work of a Cat Stevens for the Garden State generation, but there's a always a place for hushed intimacy and delicate folk-pop singer/songwriters, and Alexi Murdoch fills the bill without the mewling self-absorption of the emo contingent.

Cat Stevens isn't a bad person to be included with in conversation.
