Is it true that Apolyton tried to destroy the CivFanatics wikipedia entry?

I remember being kind of excited to see a "CivFanatics" entry on Wikipedia a few years back, but slapped all over it was ugly "needs citation" and "recommend DELEATION" material.

I kind of assumed it was some sort of pissing contest between CFC and Poly, like if Poly could keep CFC out of Wikipedia that would be something, right? Anyway I wasn't posting at either site so I have no idea, I was just speculating.

Looks like it's all sorted out now. Can you fill me in on the details and any (if there was any) drama and angst resulting?

CFC started it. I remember it well. They had the nerve to alter the apolyton entry to read that it was owned by DanQ and MarkG. They claimed that Ming and rah were once mods and that Plomp only took over the site after a defection of panda lovers.

We promptly changed it to the real history where our rightful and benevolent mods have always been moderators, and that Plomp has owned the site from the beginning where the idea of Apolyton sprung from his mighty loins and spewed forth in 1969. The Beatles had broken up you see, and the time had come for a new media juggernaut, as Poly would become.

An edit war ensued. Rightfully angry Polytubbies stormed the CFC wikipage and let their perfidy stand for all time. Verily, the battle between the Polytubbies and CFCers went all the way up to Arbcom. Thus, it was stated for all time, that the CFC edits on Poly would stand and that the CFC page would be stripped of all Polytubby edits. It was a travesty. To commemorate that bleak time, the holy tags were applied in protest and have been maintained by their vigilant sentinals, even to this day.

Now you, young man when you go to your peers can say that you have heard the true history. Do not let them decieve you so that you stray from the path of true righteousness. That is all.

I know I added in some extra data about how CFC sucks at demogames. They suck so much that even in a 3v1 on their own onsite game I still owned everyone, but that's possible just because I'm awesome.
