I give you the benefit of the doubt and consider you "performance art" (to borrow a phrase).

It was a reasonable belief for people at that time.

We aren't talking about what is true (which I obviously think is something that is fairly close to the Christian perspective). We are talking about what is reasonable.

As an example, it would have been unreasonable to believe in neutrinos 200 years ago.

Have you ANY idea how absurd the christian myth sounds to a non-christian? Any idea?

I realize that the belief in the existence of 'christian style' God is absurd to some people.

            I admit that I don't understand why.

It has been my observation though that most (But not all) atheists don't understand the Christian myth.

(To be honest, I would argue a fair few Christians don't either.)

Odd, I thought something similar.. and I hadn't even read the article yet!

btw JM, a lot of Atheists DO understand your religion all too well, in fact, a lot of them understand it better than most Christians. I guess it is due to Atheists being the kind of people who like to suck up knowledge and make sense of everything.

This isn't about religion. Can't the atheists leave a damn thread to it's intent?
It's about the wife of the leader of a nation, whose whole function is dressing her evidently retarded husband; but then, she's also been abducted by aliens.
Is there not enough storyline here to keep the thread on track? Give the religious trolling a rest.
I won't single anyone out, but it's getting to be bull****, and I don't appreciate it.

She looks frighteningly like a Japanese Sarah Palin in that picture.

Most of that sounds like one of those LDS-trips.
