Bzzzzzzzttt! Wrong! We haven't done a whole hell of a lot to discourage Kosovo from declaring itself independent!

How do you reconcile being cool with Russia forcibly annexing, say, Ukraine with being not cool with Georgia wanting to remove a criminal government claiming sovereignty over a part of its internationally recognised territory?
Easy. I think Russia should be allowed to re-annex it's way across the former USSR to it's hearts content. I only excluded the Baltic States because they manage to schmooze their way into NATO, and I don't particularly want to go to war for those loser countries.

He needs to accept his pwnage and ask for an explanation before we can forgive him
What Pwnge? Russia met all of it's mission objectives, not one of you contradicted that statement. All you've done is drink the MSM kool-aid that "Georgia=plucky underdog" and "Russia=Big Bully". A plucky underdog that spends a higher proportion of it's GDP on defense than anyone else except Saudi Arabia, Oman, and North Korea. A plucky underdog that fired rockets into a Russian-controlled area for the EXPRESS PURPOSE of picking a fight and expecting the West to coming riding to it's rescue.

I'll ignore your impotent jibe at my country.

How does your thinking that Russia should be allowed to re-annex, possibly, in some cases certainly with force of arms, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova etc make it OK while at the same time what Georgia did in Ossetia is not OK. In other words, answer the original question, silly man.

Ah, that's simple. All of those regions are part of the historical Russian sphere of influence, Ossetia is not Georgian. I might add that, in the case of Ossetia, shelling the capital with rocket arty and marching in doesn't really make me think the Georgians have some kind of superior "moral claim" to it.

                        Can Lithuania claim Pskov then?

                        What a confused person.

So long as it doesn't result in the USA going to war, I don't care(I'm guessing it will though, which is why I would care).

It's within the internationally recognized boundaries of Georgia, what more claim do you think they need on it?
