Why do you post such idiotic drivel? The right to life is a basic human right for everyone.

There are ways to reform health care so that those with preexisting conditions can have protection for their own right to life without interfering with Patty's own health care choices.

You'd rather sentence a nine year old girl who has a type of cancer to death if her parents do not have health care just so Patty can be more free with his own choices. But like I just said above, there are ways to avoid taking away Patty's choices while allowing the nine year old girl with cancer to live and get treatment.

Does Obama's health care cover that?
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

So NYE was being sarcastic with his post. Over the years here with some posters, sometimes the line between serious posting that is idiotic and sarcastic posting gets BLURRED and I sometimes make a mistake.

                oh snap:

Editor's Note: This version corrects the original editorial which implied that physicist Stephen Hawking, a professor at the University of Cambridge, did not live in the UK.

That's because the NHS mercilessly slaughtered the British one.

Anyway, anyone here who thinks that the current American health insurance system is ok can suck my balls. I can't count the number of times my employer-mandated insurance denied partial coverage or the whole bill. And those were in decent jobs; not great but in the 30-40k range like most people.

Single payer is the only way to go. Too bad that socialist fascist arab terrorist non American president of ours took it off the table from day 1.

I don't know how many times I've had the following conversation with various different Americans (there have been threads on Poly a few times):

Sick American: "I think something's wrong with me, I have these symptoms"
Me/Someone else: "You should go to the doctor."
Sick American: "I don't think my insurance covers it"/"I don't have insurance"/"I can't afford to"

And these aren't the poorest people in the country either. As someone who grew up with the NHS the concept of someone not just being able to go to the doctor if they think they're sick is bizarre and wrong.

The fact that you couldn't tell that NYE was making fun of Patroklos is hilarious.

Well, that's an outright lie. They stated he'd have died if he lived in the UK.
