Hummus is a spread I think it's mostly chickpeas. It has a very unique and tangy flavour. You can eat it straight, but it's best with soft bread.

Tahini is excellent on meat (especially lamb) and as a dressing to salads (when a bit more liquid). Also, Baba Ghanoush is incredible. Especailly if you eat it as a fresh dish in a restaurant with a real eggplant swimming in tahini, rather than a pre-made dip.

Tahini has a very important bitter flavor and texture. It's often overshadows the chickpeas as the strongest flavor. Many chefs consider having top notch Tahini more important than having good chickpeas.

I'm sad that I missed VetLegion's visit to Haifa. I hoped to take him to a Hummus restaurant to eat it fresh, and incredible. *drool*
