Any list that includes Advance Wars can't be all bad. It's a hell of a lot better than their "best of the decade" music list...

I was annoyed by their praise for Final Fantasy XII, though. How can you claim FFXII introduced visible enemies to Japanese RPGs (an idea they think came from MMOs?) and then mention Chrono Trigger (a Japanese RPG that had visible enemies a decade ago!) a couple sentences later?

You simply can not make a list of the best games of the aughts and not mention Half-Life 2. Ravenholm alone is better than most of the games on that list, including some very good ones, like Bioshock.

No Halo was an even greater oversight. That's like not including Goldeneye in a best games of the '90s list.
