What the hell is so socialist about giving people the option of buying public insurance?

Let's analyze that sentence. Socialist....give people...public insurance. Ok...socialism=gives to the people everything they need. Socialism=government supplied everything. Public insurance option=Socialistic ideal. Need I go on? Do you understand this? Is this clear enough? We can reiterate if you want. When the government GIVES to the people a service that it controls, that drastically affects how people live their lives (food, shelter, work, health) it is because the government is socialist...ok? Hate to break that to you, but that is sort of how it works. You know...it has been this way for a long time. People feel under privileged and gov gives them what they need to not be....socialistic medicine for example to keep those under privileged healthy.

And it depends on who you ask if it is truly better. Because what I read make it out more of a burden, a bureaucratic mess, and people prefer American health care (as it is now) to get taken care of. I know YOUR statistics show opposite...but guess what, there is always opposition and elsewhere where this medicine program is active has the opposition who believe it needs to change. Liberals are not all knowing, all powerful, and all right. There is another side to the story, like the fact bureaucrats should not control people's health care if they are not doctors. An office in D.C. does not need to decide if a man in Tacoma really needs that invasive surgery or not, or if that woman in Seattle really needs to be getting that expensive prescription medication.

There are legitimate reasons to criticize Obama. Ignoring a birth certificate and claiming there's a giant conspiracy to cover-up his Kenyan origins is not a legitimate reason. It's not legitimate because it isn't true. If your basis for criticizing someone is based on a lie, don't cry foul when the rest of us here mock you.

Why not criticize him on any of the following?

• Failure to exploit the Iranian political crisis
• Increasing America's debt to astronomical levels
• Weak support for our Eastern European allies
• Health care reform boondoggles

You see, the difference is that these are actual issues, while the birth issue is a lie that has been repeatedly debunked by every honest person who examined the facts. If you want to talk about actual issues, you might find a receptive audience. OR you can cry like a ***** about how ACORN is oppressing you.

It's all up to you.

I mean, there are so many coincidences with Obama's political career already; friends/appointees from former workplace/school, former head of the law firm BO and MO met and worked at happens to be the Judge that presided over the birth certificate case with Berg, etc.


Not all states issue short forms, but most states don't issue to you the long form. The long form is in records of the state of birth. SO Hawaii says they have it, but Obama will not allow it's release, thus going against his promise of transparency, and thus continuing the debate.

If your assumption is that he reached his position through corruption, what makes you think the long form couldn't be forged?

Oh it very well can be, but it takes further conspiracy theory to go that far. 1960's paper, 1960's ink, 1960's press, seasoning/weathering of the paper after forge, and finding a verifiable doctor from said hospital that tenured at time of birth, but no longer living or able to be bought. That...goes kind of far.

The fact of the matter is that he needs to practice what he preaches, transparency. That is the only reason I ever paid attention to the "birthers", because if this president wants to promise things I was going to nit-pick everything. And he promised transparency that we are not recieving, what we are recieving is a court battle in the millions because he won't release this record, his school records, etc. Such as things like the original date of his first passport...since he lived overseas constantly, he would need a passport and apparently it is said he didn't get his first one until just before becoming a senator.

So why the smoke and mirrors when he promised transparency? Why the lawyers? Just say, "ok you want to know...here ya go." I mean, he promised to be that type of president, or else he would tell us why. So where is our explaination..."sorry America, I won't release my documents because they may prove something about me is a lie"

Except that -- do try to keep up -- there's no such thing as a federal birth certificate, and the "US Standard" is a suggested form that not all states use. I was born in Chicago, and I couldn't produce such a form because, in 1962, my state (or maybe Cook County, or maybe just my hospital -- you never know in the US) didn't use that form. So am I not a citizen?

Again, I scrutinized US birth certificates for a living; I guarantee there's no one here who's seen more of them except maybe Guy or Doc Strangelove, and even they haven't seen the rich variety I have, from all across the country and over time. You're just wrong. This should not be surprising at this point, even to you.

On the contrary Rufus, Hawaii DOH official Lukino or whatever her name is, said her self that she has "personally seen" the birth records, and "personally verifies" their existence.

And besides...when no one believes my being a veteran, an EFL teacher, living and working in China, and not being a DL...why would I believe you guys scrutinize COLBs all day long?
