I don't see a problem with having a fat surgeon general - it's not as though people are going to start eating less fiber and more saturated fat as a result. Ben is right, if you look at this position there are some things you should want your SG to have. She does not have those. She is black, Obama is all about promoting blacks into power positions, as we have seen he loves to leave out whites. Hell he only picked Biden because he knew if he picked an ethnic or woman he would have lost.
She is not qualified. Oh big whoop she knows medical, hell I know docs in the Army that have more qualifications to be SG than she does. Ben is dead on, affirmative ****ing action. Shes gonna get this job strictly because she is black, and this whole bull**** "must be racist" cause shes black thing is tired. Maybe because she has a personal interst she'll put more emphasis on finding solutions to the obesity epidemic.
The FDA just shot down a promising anti-obesity drug called rimanabant. In europe patients have been getting 15 to 20% weight loss on this drug, which acts by blocking cannibinoid receptors in the brain. In FDA trials though about 1% of the recipients reported mild depression when taking the drug, so it was rejected for use in the US. Looking at the set up of the trials its apparent that the researchers neglected to ask test subjects if they used marijuana. Rimanabant blocks the receptors marijuana works on, and we know that some heavy marijuana users get mildly depressed when they quit using marijuana. It seems a shame that we've been denied the use of a drug which would go a long way towards fighting our number one health problem."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!Comment
