As far as I'm concerned, the community here should act to prevent imminent violations of the law, but outside of that we've no right to interfere. Marrying someone for reasons other than love is not against the law, but harassment and suicide are.

Suicide is not a crime in most jurisdictions in the US and Canada. Depending on the the actual acts which go into it harassment may not be either. Making a few (<10) phone calls to employers would almost certainly not be considered a crime.

It is true that physics didn't start using it heavily until 10 years ago. However, it is the programming language of choice in physics now. Maybe they will start moving on to something different, I see a bit of stuff written in python.
