Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Did I miss something? What caused DanQ to move? Apolyton was and is his home, we're all just visiting.
Dan may have helped build the house, but he let it go to **** with his tenants still living inside, after they complained multiple times. So Dan sold the house.
would you let that same landlord back in for a cup of tea?
At WePlayCiv on the bad side there aren't as many new threads. On the good side there are none like this. The reason for the first is that WPC is largely unknown among those at CFC where the many of the serious civvers are. While WPC is made up of modders I do believe the site itself has not yet become a destination for modders. This will change as the admin guys at WPC make mods and people go there to download them and thereby get to know the site. Also, though CFC is not nearly as draconian in their moderation as I mistook them to be WPC is still more easy going and so will likely attract some of the OT people from there over time.
The reason for the last bit is that at WPC the people don't tend to get off on berating others just because they are in a different group. I don't believe anyone there would bother to make such a thread as this or if they did I doubt it would be allowed by the admins, but that's just a guess.
Though I posted only here for a decade I have now finally diversified to all three forums and wish them all well because why be petty?

OK, I am a bit new to this. What the **** do pandas and panda ****ing have anything to do with Civ?

Certain people (a former site owner and a few lesser mods) loved panda ****ing so much they broke off from Apolyton to set up their own panda-phile site.

That's because they go hand in hand. You have a small number of posters who hardly disagree with eachother on controversial issues and a moderators who lay the smack down on the smallest sign of trouble.

This is naive. CIV is, what, over four years old now? The serious civvers have found their home, and there aren't many of them. The rest have moved on to other games and maybe play some CIV every now and then, but aren't really interested in mods. You've created a site for an old game with an already saturated market. Panda ****ing is the only real attraction you've got.

Hey Zak, I will be in Guangzhou this week, urgent call, I gotta meet some government entity over UCLG event; website issues I need to resolve. Got any tips what I can do there?
I think 'poly is generally operating as a society much better under the new management. Treating the posters as adults.
This whole CivCon thing is embarrassing. Registration only open a month before it starts, no wonder it was undersold. And then cancelling with no warning that there was a danger this might happen if registrations didn't pick up.... just urgh.
Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
Jon Miller: MikeH is a shockingly revolting dolt and a masturbatory urine-reeking sideshow freak whose word is as valuable as an aging cow paddy. We've got both kinds
MikeH, when I visited the website, I noticed they are having a conference on Civ. I was wondering how successful it has been in the past?
Opening registrations 1 month before the event starts is really stupid. I'd like to know their reasoning for that. What happens at CivCon? I can't think of anything that would be remotely enjoyable. It's as if I have to spend money to be bored and geeky. Maybe if they broaden the scope? Is gambling allowed in the state where the event is held? If so, set up a Civ Tournament, place bets, with a parimutuel system. Even I would go then.
The problem with DanQ is that he is too systematic, was he raised in Singapore? Does he know what fun is?
DQ likes what he likes and I respect that. What he doesn't like or do is continually complaining about people so sure, he might not fit in at a place where that seems to be the main theme.

You realize that this is a lie, right? I've been linked to threads at WPC with hissy fits between members that resemble an Asher v. Agathon blow up.

They did make many threads like this.
In fact, I had to PM them to let them know that threads dedicated to slandering me were in poor taste since I technically lack the ability to post there. In Solver's defense, he's very good at deleting those threads now.
But to pretend they are or never were there is folly.
And to go there now, it's a wasteland. There's not one interesting thread on the front page. The community is what thrives on good sites, and WPC's community is declining. Now you've got a staple of posters like Lancer, Uncle Buster, and vyeh. You might as well call the place Boredom Anonymous.

Honestly, it speaks volumes of DanQ's management skills.
There's one thing DanQ does very well: verbosity. The rest, not so much.

Well hit the foreign district if you want to be around foreigners. People of all colors, races, places, and ages are there. I personally love the food at Hooley's, an Irish pub at the Bing Hua Hotel (2 Tian He Bei Lu, Guangzhou) and it is great when their is a game. There are a few good clubs that I go to when i get the chance, Velvet *kind of a gay bar but my friend's boss always paid our tab*, Cellar, Cave *good bar*, MoMo's, and Kama *If you are ok with a 50:1 African to white ratio*. The Africans *this isn't racist its kind of true* are easy to distinguish *not what you think I mean*, the ones in suits are business men, the ones not in suits are generally the other kind of bad business men *cops even avoid those guys*. Tian He is the main area to be, aside from by the river, it is the 2 big malls. Tian He sportscenter and Teemall. Both area big and tall, and both got great food. Go to Tian He on the 3rd floor *I think* and to the restaurant Latin's. They got great food and live South American music. There is tons to do and see and experience. There is a lot of the west there, and there is a lot of the east. If you have a chance, like a whoooole day, go to Panyu, Chime long Zoo and see it, then get tickets to the circus which is at night. This circus is like cirque de sole, and more. Great great great show, my parents and brother my wife son and I had front row VIP section *not too expensive* and that was just awesome. Feel the heat of fire on your face, see everything...Guangzhou is awesome. So much to do and I have't done soo much.
