The site was doomed to begin with. They had this mistaken opinion that they could not only take the majority of the traffic away from Poly (since EVERYBODY hated it) but also attract modders who already had a home, and get many new people to the game... IN A DECLINING CIV MARKET. Those assumptions were silly at best. They also thought that the combination of their personalities would be a magnet to many people... another bad assumption. They also thought they had a "new" concept and that they knew how to do things better... yet another bad assumption. They are now pretty much down to staff members posting, and a few other hard cores. And that's about it. Their traffic is so low, it doesn't even track on any of the major web tools.
On the plus side, while Civfanatics traffic continues to decline, Poly is up 5%. Yeah, CFC is still MANY times greater than Poly... but the latest traffic numbers show that our new MAJORITY owners have made some good decisions. My hat's off to them. It's nice to see Dan in a minority position for a change, since his style was to not make decisions until it was usually too late. Congrats to the new management team, and the new mods.
