Rufus, the UN simply ignores Israel, because its inconvenient. Much more convenient to criticize Israel than Hezbullah, that might kill people.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gabriela Shalev said recent incidents in Lebanon, including an explosion at a Hezbollah weapons cache, have verified that the Shiite group "consistently obstructs the implementation of Resolution 1701 by building new military infrastructure south of the Litani River."

    ..
In the letter, Shalev also mentioned the attack on UNIFIL peacekeepers who attempted to search a suspicious building near the arms cache as an indication that Hezbollah was looking to "obstruct" UNIFIL's mission, also by "using civilians in a violent manner."

The UN said the existence of a Hezbollah weapons cache near the border with Israel was a clear violation of Resolution 1701. Israel is also seeking a similar condemnation of two more incidents that took place over the weekend, namely the infiltration of 15 unarmed Lebanese civilians into Israel and the attack on UN peacekeepers by villagers in Bir el-Salasel.

    ...
As for the incident involving the infiltration of Lebanese citizens into Israel, Shalev said UNIFIL "refrained from taking any action to prevent the crossing of these individuals into Israeli territory. "Some of the organizers of this violation even claimed that they had coordinated their actions with UNIFIL," she stated.

It's win-win-win!
The Arabs love to flood this sort of stuff themselves but there are a bunch of Muslim states each of which gets a vote in the UN while Israel doesn't exactly have a huge number of co-religionist states.

Jordanian authorities have started revoking the citizenship of thousands of Palestinians living in Jordan to avoid a situation in which they would be "resettled" permanently in the kingdom, Jordanian and Palestinian officials revealed on Monday.

              ....

The tensions reached their peak over the weekend when tens of thousands of fans of Jordan's Al-Faisali soccer team chanted slogans condemning Palestinians as traitors and collaborators with Israel.... Anti-riot policemen had to interfere to stop the Jordanian fans from lynching the Wihdat team members and their fans ...Reports in a number of Jordanian newspapers said that the Jordanian fans also chanted anti-Palestinian slogans and cursed Palestine, the PLO, Jerusalem and the Aksa Mosque.

              ...

[A palestinian interviewed] and other Palestinians said that Jordanians' "hostile" attitude toward them had escalated after the rise to power of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu earlier this year. Several Jordanian government officials, they said, are convinced that Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman are secretly working toward turning Jordan into a Palestinian state.

As a preemptive measure, the Jordanian authorities recently began revoking the citizenship of thousands of Palestinians, leaving many of them in a state of panic and uncertainty regarding the future.

The Jordanians have justified the latest measure by arguing that it's aimed at avoiding a situation in which the Palestinians would ever be prevented from returning to their original homes inside Israel.

Since 1988, when the late King Hussein cut off his country's administrative and legal ties with the West Bank, the Jordanian authorities have been working toward "disengaging" from the Palestinians under the pretext of preserving their national identity.

That decision, said Jordan's Interior Minister Nayef al-Kadi, was taken at the request of the PLO and the Arab world to consolidate the status of the PLO as the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

"Our goal is to prevent Israel from emptying the Palestinian territories of their original inhabitants," the minister explained, confirming that the kingdom had begun revoking the citizenship of Palestinians.

"We should be thanked for taking this measure," he said. "We are fulfilling our national duty because Israel wants to expel the Palestinians from their homeland."

Kadi said that, despite the new policy, Palestinians would be permitted to retain their status as residents of the kingdom by holding "yellow ID cards" that are issued to those who have families and homes in the West Bank.

This is not the only reason however.

As I understand it, Jordanian Palestinian relations have been very very strained lately, as Jordan is increasingly discontent by Ramallah's positions on peace talks with Israel. Basically they fed up by the Palestinians clinging to the same demands without and concessions, while at the same time, making little steps towards consolidating power, trying to complete mundane tasks. Basically they fear that the Palestinians intend to rule out any concession on their part, which will prevent the conflict being solved, and choose instead to wait out the problem. In this scenario they don't want to have any responsibility fallen on their shoulders.
